I'm hoping joey cole gets a game - really want him to hit form ready for the world cup.

And yes it's gonna hurt villa when the lolba dive wins first a freekick for the equaliser

Fucking yes though.  

Cech still looks so dodgy at times.

I've got a feeling the league will not be won with a really high points total, which will suit us.  All the top 4-5 definitely have losses in them.

I know you guys have reasons to hate him but in the current state there aren't many who can replace Rafa.

Even Real Madrid are finding it difficult to get a decent manager.

Y'know, that spurs fans used to sing at him when he was at L'Arse, and then L'Arse fans were singing at him which prompted the whole knee sliding jape.

My post wasn't directed at Wigan fans specifically, just thought it was quite representative of certain football fans who sing racist abusive songs at players with no links to their club whatsoever, probably cos they've heard other fans sing them.

We are woefully short of confidence, and without Torres, Gerrard and Mascherano (and "Spaniard") in the team, we looked short of leadership and players capable of rising to the challenge and imposing themselves on the game when they had the opportunity.

Good thing is that the next game has come quickly.

Anyone else watching Benfica thoroughly outplay the Bluenoses?

Benfica have got a rather poundit attacking midfield, Saviola and Aimar creating, with Di Maria (even tho he's a bit shit) and Ramires attacking from the wings.  Playing some lovely stuff  Surprised

Ibagaza? No he's about 32 now. Plays for Villarreal, although I don't think he gets much of a look-in. Was  at Mallorca. He's only about 5'5".

Have to admit Di Maria did look pretty good overall, made about 3 of the goals.  He was bloody awful for Argentina tho in the last quallies which is what my original comment was based on, altho so was everyone I guess.

Good to see Riise playing for Roma against Fulham then, looked quite good actually, seems the move has helped him rediscover his form.  Fulham fans were booing him tho   Shakey Head
Played against his younger bro for the first time in a competitive match too!  Surprised

Anyway, Chelsea victory looks on the cards already, Givet OG after 20 mins.  Some ppl may disagree with this view, but I'd be perfectly happy for them to trot along to the top of the league.  It's certainly better than the unthinkable alternative.

Joe Cole was supremely confident today. It was like he hadn't been injured let alone injured for a whole year. He was very sharp.

Chels were good today but Blackburn were horrendous, I wouldn't be surprised if we fucked them up big time even with our form at the moment.

Arsenal really need to stop being so in love with themselves.  2 goals up playing good stuff and they all just get cocky, assume they'll win 6-0 in style, lose any drive whatsoever and start a posing contest.

Arshavin got a bit overhyped last year imo, hes a fucking brilliantly talented player but hes also basically a passenger.

I'm a bit torn about Wednesday. I really want the kids to get a run out but I think Arsenal's kids will kill us. I'd kind of like to see us with a fairly strong team so we can keep up the momentum now. Actually I wouldn't mind wining this cup to be honest. Just to get back on the trophy trail again.
