I reckon we'll snatch a 1-1.

But for some reason I think we'll lose 2 or 3 nil. We're looking a bit ropey in defence and they're scoring goals for fun. I know it's all different in Europe, but Liverpool haven't impressed me lately.

You also didnt think Torres was any good at the weekend when I thought he was brilliant - only one error I spotted - and we scored as a result.

we should use this tactic more we'll be unstoppable.  smug

I worry our grinding out results without playing well will catch up with us in this game.

This game is starting to make me tingle lads. We've never shirked a game like this before and I don't think we're going to start tomorrow. If we can win this game, then I believe that it will set us up for the rest of the season.

Remember last year? We were in a much worse position, going into a game we were uniformly shitting bricks about against a team that hadn't lost in an age. Fast forward 12 months, we're in second place despite what it feels like, where we should be flying high, we're collectively low on confidence because of our main rivals continuing to be tight bastards and we're going up against a team of arguably the same quality as inter with a squad identical to the one we used last year.

There is fuck all reason why we can't come home on Thursday morning with at least a one goal advantage bar us not turning up.

Interesting comments from Ramos saying he is looking to take a 3-goal advantage to Anfield.

If they come out and attack it could play right into our hands as we are at our best on the counter-attack, especially in Europe. I know we tend to control games and possessions but when we are at our best a lot of our goals come from quick attacks involving Reina, Xabi, Gerrard and Torres. Crucial to this is Gerrard being fit though as his pace combined with his ability to pick out a through ball to Torres is vital for our ability on the counter-attack.

Goes without saying I know but I really hope Stevie is fit tomorrow.

My brain's telling me 1-1, but my heart's telling me 2 or 3 nil.

I bloody love Champions League nights. They're just so much fun, as there's little pressure on them, because there are two legs. League games aren't as enjoyable because we NEED a win, in 90 minutes. Whereas over 180 a draw over both legs is fine.

I can see us getting a result, even if its 1-0, I will take a boring 0-0 if it means we have a chance at home.

1-0

think we should play hyppia at the back instead of skrtel/carra. he can play the ball better then both and he can come up with a goal as well. he seems to also favour the big games like kuyt.

Babel.

yup. but probably more advanced than gerrard has been as he's useless at tracking back.

mind you with masch + xabi in the middle and riera + kuyt on the wings we should be solid enough.

I wouldn't mind seeing Babel play in a 4-4-2 myself.

I like the 4-2-3-1 formation but I don't think it's effective enough if we don't have Stevie & Nando in it.

Judging by the bibs on the official site's photos Dossena will start and Benayoun won't.

Is Woody Allen sitting next to Rafa?  confused

I think he will play Gerrard, that's the only thing I'm scared of tonight. Watching Stevie run try his hardest and get another frustrating hamstring problem. I agree Nando may have a poor game tonight. He could have done with scoring against City beforehand.

Maybe we should start N'Gog  suprise

I'll take any win for us or high score draw please.

I think the worst result that I could live with tonight is 0-0.

Madrid will be overconfident and shown up, as Inter were to some extent last night. A 0-0 at the worst, I think. They are still comically bad at the back and haven't been tested in recent games.

Barca gave them a 1-0 battering in their last defeat. I fancy us to do similar.
