My FM team, I>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rafa

http://i42.tinypic.com/5p3r5w.jpg

omg rafinha, silva and messi. I love you.

and that's a no cheat game, Lucas is an absolute beast in it, and his stats aren't even that great.

Sold Goran Pandev for £34mil to Arsenal so I only spent £5.5mil to get Messi, I bought Guardado as well for £24mil and he'll become my first choice left back once his retraining is finished.

messi cost me daft money on my game, and aguero saved for ages, had a fire sale and got them in consecutive seasons for about £100 million each.

i must have left it too late, they were the release clauses!

actually i think on a separate save i managed to get Messi for about £40million (as that was his release clause) might post my team if i can be bothered.

That team is after I sold Mata van der Vaart and Pandev as well, didn't see how I could fit them all in regularly enough so sold them for a combined total of £73 million or so  smug which paid for Bojan and Silva, if you want to look at it that way, got Bojan for £22mil btw

I signed Rebrov for about 450k.

He was wank. Utter utter wank. By January he was on loan to Motherwell and I sold him to them later on for 80k.

Never ever ever buy him.

My favourite part of the game is signing new players, but honestly I don't think I can improve on that team, Babel will replace Gerrard in two years, Leo is replacing Carra and Bolzoni and Lucas will replace Masch and Alonso in a couple of seasonsm so I have no idea who to sign now  sad

Fuck no, I think it's snowing again

fuck off

I'm annoyed now.

All I want to do it dick around on my bike but no, the weather has to go all cold and icey. It hurts enough when I fall off as it is, nevermind when the ground's covered in a layer of ice.

Am I the only one that just wants the snow to fuck off already?

Yeah, just after Xmas. Getting a little bit bored with Lincoln at the moment, it's flat and dull. Need a chance to go off and find some proper trails or something. Apparently there's somewhere near Market Rasen which isn't too far away. And there's a big park off the A1 I used to go when I was a kid. I think that might be more leisurely-cycle and a picnic style though.

I brought my old bmx home at the weekend after playing around on it at my mams for the first time in about 4 years. Makes me want to pump some money into it (needs a new frame really) and start that up again. Bit scared of getting upgrade fever again though. I bought some new pedals for my avalanche and nearly ended up getting new forks too, even though there's nothing wrong with my current ones at all. Looking forward to the Summer, hope me and my housemate will be able to go on some mtb roadtrips without having uni in the way.

Is the latest FM better than the last couple of them? I'm still a fan of CM03/04, I've found the last few getting a bit too indepth. Frankly I might as well train to be a football manager IRL with the amount of tiny little decisions that need to be made about every match. I know it was never a boot up and play sort of game, but I think FM07 got a bit too detailed for casual players.

I think it's great, but then again I've liked and owned every version since CM96/97. I don't find the tweaking too much of a problem - I usually just find a formation that works for me, set it up for home/away games (maybe a couple of other variations - like an all out defence) then I just change things during the game depending on how it pans out. I don't get all these people who say you've gotta make loads of little changes before each game, once I've got players who fit my formation it's normally fine.

I think it's not just the formation tweaking, but things like the pre-match press comments suddenly impacting on morale and half time team talks that were meant to affect performance and all that sort of guff.

I'm not one of those players who follows all the advice about needing to precisely match my formation and tactics to the exact strengths of each player for each game, but I do tend to find myself drawn towards new features and feel compelled to press the button and use the functionality.

By the time FM07 came along, it was taking about 10 minutes to get from one final whistle to the next kick off outside the transfer window, rather than the 4-5 it seemed to take in CM3/4.

Pre-match press conferences get a bit repetitive like but you can always send your assistant - they only take maybe 30 seconds to a minute to do though. Same with team talks, I use the same one most of the time (You can win tonight) and don't really have any problems.

No, unfortunately not. I was playing up until December but I got a job offer back down in Cork so I moved back just before Christmas.

You thinking of going back soon? You were injured or something were you?

I don't think they've played in about 8 weeks anyway because I still get the those teamer emails.

Pop into the thread the next time they're organising a game, no doubt they'll add you straight away then because they're desperate for numbers.
